Installation instructions for double flange limit expansion joint

Double flange limit expansion joint, as an important component of pipeline connection, is widely used in pump valve pipeline drainage system and various industrial fluid transmission systems. Its main function is to compensate for axial displacement of pipelines, absorb deformation caused by thermal expansion and contraction, and alleviate the impact of environmental factors such as foundation settlement on pipelines.

Installation steps

1. Loosen the gland bolt:
Before installation, it is necessary to loosen the cover bolts at both ends of the expansion joint and extend or compress the joint to the required installation length. Expansion joints of different diameters have different adjustable quantities, and specific values can be found in the data sheet for double flange limit expansion joints.

2. Connecting flanges:
Connect the flanges at both ends of the expansion joint to the matching flanges of the pipeline or valve. During the connection process, it is necessary to ensure that the flange surface is flat and aligned, and to use the diagonal method to evenly tighten the bolts to avoid uneven stress on the bolts that may cause flange deformation or leakage.

3. Adjust the pressure plate bolts:
After the connection is completed, use the diagonal method to tighten the pressure plate bolts. By the elastic deformation of the sealing ring, a static seal is formed between the pressure plate and the body. When tightening bolts, attention should be paid to moderate force to avoid excessive tightening that may cause damage to the sealing ring or deformation of the flange.

4. Check the sealing:
After installation, the sealing of the expansion joint should be checked. The tightness of the seal can be determined by observing whether there is leakage at the flange connection. If there is a situation where the local seal is not tight, it can be adjusted by using a local gland nut until a complete seal is achieved.
