Precautions during the installation process of double flange limit expansion joints
1. Anti corrosion treatment
Metal products such as steel sleeves, flanges, bolts, etc. used for expansion joint connections should be protected against corrosion according to the soil conditions on site and relevant standards. Common anti-corrosion methods include brushing anti-corrosion paint, hot-dip galvanizing, etc., to improve the corrosion resistance and service life of joints.
2. Avoid welding slag splashing
During the installation process, it is strictly prohibited for welding slag to splash onto the surface of the wave shell, in order to avoid mechanical damage to the wave shell. At the same time, after installation, the auxiliary positioning components and fasteners used for installation and transportation on the corrugated expansion joint should be removed as soon as possible to avoid affecting the normal function of the joint.
3. Prohibit deformation adjustment
It is strictly prohibited to use the method of corrugated expansion joint deformation to adjust the installation of pipelines beyond the tolerance. This approach not only affects the normal function of the joint, reduces its service life, but also increases the load on the piping system, equipment, and supporting components, causing safety hazards.
4. Strengthen and fix the pipe rack
During the hydrostatic test, the secondary fixed pipe bracket at the end of the pipeline equipped with expansion joints should be reinforced to prevent the pipeline from moving or rotating under the action of water pressure. For expansion joints and their connecting pipelines used for gas media, it is also necessary to pay attention to whether temporary supports need to be added during hydrostatic testing to ensure the smooth progress of the test.
